This year, Jackson, Etti & Edu crossed a significant milestone with the firm celebrating its 20th anniversary together with clients, friends, and alumni at three distinct events; a client’s dinner at Claridges Mayfair; a fund raising Charity “Walk Against Cancer” and a Dinner Dance at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island for staff and alumni.
The clients’ dinner at Claridge’s Mayfair was to appreciate clients and friends of the firm who have been pivotal to the firm’s growth over the past 20 years. Speaking at the event, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama highlighted the firm’s qualities and remarkable service to the legal industry. He acknowledged that JEE has exhibited great commitment to demonstrating the capabilities of Nigerian institutions and projecting a positive image of Nigeria to the rest of the world. Also in attendance was the Acting High Commissioner of Nigeria to the United Kingdom, Adah Simon Ogah. He congratulated the firm’s Partners and staff on the milestone celebration.
A fundraising charity tagged “Walk Against Cancer” was held in Kofo Abayomi, Victoria Island to create awareness on the benefit of early cancer detection. The event was well attended by volunteers, corporate organizations and government agencies. Various corporate organizations came out to identify with the initiative as co-sponsors. Big brands like Cadbury, Pathevo, Mega Plaza, GTBank, Auroe, Dataflex, Olam, Addosser, Chi Limited, Pathcare, ACCL, Falcon, City FM 105.1, Fine & Country and Zaron Cosmetics all co-sponsored the event. Dr Femi Olaleye, Medical Director of Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, beneficiary of the funds raised expressed gratitude to Jackson, Etti & Edu and all donors, pledging to build a clinic in Ikorodu in memory of Mrs Folashade Laniyan, a late Partner of the firm. Managing Partner, Koye Edu while speaking to the press said: “Our fundraising Walk against Cancer has great meaning to us, as we lost one of our Partners to cancer so we had this walk in her honour.
JEE rounded up celebrations with a Dinner Dance at The Civic Centre, Victoria Island. Special Guest, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode spoke admirably of the firm saying, “Jackson, Etti & Edu is one of the firm’s Lagos State remains proud of.” The firm’s staff who have worked 10 years and above received awards; alumni who have also played a role in the firm’s 20 year journey were duly recognised. Managing Partner, Koye Edu thanked all who had come out to celebrate with the firm. He re-echoed the firm’s commitment to delivering excellent legal services as it eagerly anticipates the journey ahead.
The firm also used the 20th anniversary as an opportunity to elevate the JEE brand with the unveiling of our refreshed logo to reflect who we are today and to symbolize our dynamic future. The new logo retains core elements – the light and dark grey; and now an infusion of vivid red, signifying our renewed energy and passion to take on the future.
